Introduction of T.W.G.Hs.
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Early Childhood Services
Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (T.W.G.Hs.) is the largest charitable organization with the longest history in Hong Kong. T.W.G.Hs. provides a wide range of services including medical, education and social welfare. Today, T.W.G.Hs. operates over 309 service centres in Hong Kong.
T.W.G.Hs. started to develop day nursery services in 1968, and there have been 15 nursery schools which are registered as Non-Profit-Making Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centres. Services such as long whole-day care and education services for children under the age of six, Integrated Programme and On-site Preschool Rehabilitation Services are offered for the children with special educational needs. All nursery schools are dedicated to children education according to different developmental stages. This would be beneficial to the build-up on good habits, healthy growth and positive learning attitudes as well as basic abilities of children.
Objective
Mission: To communicate caring and positive culture of the nursery school to families and the community. To focus on high-quality home-school partnership as a way to enhance whole-child development.
Vision: To make continuous effort to build quality next generation by creating a safe and appropriate growth environment for children, and observing their all-round development in moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic and emotional aspects through continuous and sound assessments & records.

History
1985
Establishment
T.W.G.Hs. Butterfly Day Nursery was established and located in Butterfly Estate, Tuen Mun. It aims to provide day care and education services to children.
1989
Occasional Child Care Service
Provide 'Occasional Child Care Service' to assist parents in caring children in a temporary basis.
1995
The Origin of the Nursery School's Name
With sponsorships provided by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, "T.W.G.Hs. Butterfly Day Nursery" is renamed as "T.W.G.Hs. Tin Ka Ping Nursery School".
1998
Education on Emotional Quotient
The Quality Education Fund (QEF) sponsored us to review and develop a systematic and comprehensive curriculum to build emotional intelligence of children and their self-image through involving parents.

Extended Hours Child Care Service
Provide 'Extended Hours Child Care Service' aims at supporting parents who require longer child care.

Shared Book Approach
Shared Book Approach link learning languages with living experiences to enhance children's interests in learning and reading.

Growing with Self-Esteem - A Parent Education Programme
Growing with Self-Esteem - A Parent Education Programme suggests a systematic and comprehensive culture for parents to foster self-esteem in children.

We have been registered one Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centres under the Education Bureau.

Aesthetic Activities
We are dedicated to aesthetic education to inspire children's creativity through appreciations of artists and activities.

School Social Work Service
Providing social work support to children, parents and staff through case counselling, group activities, seminars, workshops and training activities to enhance understanding and responsiveness to children's needs.

Partnership Programme
Regular joint-school events like seminars on parenting styles, family sports day, graduation day camp, etc. to enhance home-school communication and collaboration.

Interactive Play - The Guidance Programme in Nursery Schools
Support from the Quality Education Fund in 2007 to organizes more training opportunities on child counseling and support services to teachers.
2009
Leap! – The Body Education Programme
Participated since 2009 in the Leap! - Body Education Programme founded by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation with the support of Cloud Gate Dance School to fosters holistic development and creativity in children through integrating dance out with daily life.
2010
JELIC – The Whole Brain Development Programme
JELIC – The Whole Brain Development Programme since 2010 has helped the K2 and K3 children increase attention span, self-regulation and self-directed learning.

Montessori Approach
Systematic teaching materials, environment and interaction have been used with the Montessori Approach to enhance children's sensor perceptual abilities and practice life skills.

Practical Life Training
Practical life trainings are integrated to daily routines to nurture children's senses of responsibility, self-confidence and attitude to love themselves, others and the environment.

Perceptual-motor Development
Parent-child Homework of Perceptual-Motor Programmes are designed to enrich children's activities with fun and interaction with parents to strengthen their senses to nurture their emotions, attention and self-control which are foundations to learning.

On-site Preschool Rehabilitation Services
On-site Preschool Rehabilitation Services since 2016 are subvented by the Social Welfare Department to target at children with special needs for early intervention and to support their parents.

Joining Free Quality Kindergarten Education Scheme.

- To cultivate active learning attitudes and independence in children through instructive and diversified activities. This enables children to have a comprehensive and balanced development.
- To instil curiosity in children through live observation and hands on exploration.
- To maintain trustful school-home relationship with frequent communication and co-operation.
Facilities
With a gross area of over 640 square metres, school campus is equipped with 6 classrooms.
In each classroom, spaces for promoting interactive learning, exploration and creativity are provided for children. Integrated learning corners, such as dramatic play, reading and writing, art and crafts, construction play, practical life, nature and science, etc. are to build children's interest and potentials in learning.
Furthermore, there are other rooms as indoor big muscle playground, music room, kitchen, children's toilet, principal's room, staff room, laundry and store room, etc.

Our team
Our staff are passionate to nurture young children. The Principal and Early Childhood Practitioner (teachers) are all professionally qualified and fully experienced in early childhood education. Besides, the school social worker provides services for children and their family members,
including children with social or emotional difficulties.
In addition, visiting Educational/ Clinical Psychologist, Project Officer (Curriculum), Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapist serve as our consultants to give recommendations over lesson plans, teaching techniques and resources.
For continuous professionalism development, teachers participate in various training activities every year. In the past, workshops by the Playright Children's Play Association on free play as an essential element for healthy child development.
